Day 1

Welcome to Lisbon!

Our driver will be waiting for you at the arrival’s hall of Lisbon’s Airport, ready to take you on a private transfer to your hotel! Get ready for this afternoon’s experience! In a city of 7 hills here is something that you can’t miss: panoramic views, viewpoints, belvederes, “miradouros," -- we will take you up and down the hills to visit some of the magnificent examples in town! You’ll visit Eduard 7th Park, a huge green and pleasant area before continuing onto Senhora do Monte Belvedere, the perfect spot for sun lovers and photographers. We’ll end at Portas do Sol Belvedere, offering glamorous views overlooking the Alfama rooftops and the Tagus River, at a short distance from Saint Jorge Castle.

Day 2

Explore Lisbon’s City Streets

This morning, our guide will take you on a private walking tour of Lisbon! This is a city meant to be discovered through walks and is a great way of mingling with the locals. The tour will start at Baixa District, before continuing to Alfama, one of Lisbon’s hills, known for its unique and picturesque vibe. Here, you’ll visit the Cathedral of Lisbon before continuing up the hill towards St. George’s Castle to enjoy one the best views over the city! After this, the tour will continue towards Chiado, teeming with stories to tell. In the evening, you’ll embark on a Fado tour through Lisbon’s version of the blues before ending at a typical Portuguese restaurant, where you’ll enjoy a delicious dinner, while listening to Fado live performances.

Day 3

Discover Sintra and the Estoril Coast

Today you’ll discover the fairytale town of Sintra, located outside Lisbon, considered one of the most romantic and mysterious places in Portugal! At the World Heritage Site of Sintra, hundreds of years of history and culture await you! During a short walk in the old city center, you'll find yourself surrounded by quaint handicraft shops. You will pass by royal palaces, chalets and aristocratic residences in the most incredible combination of architectural styles, colors, and shapes that you will find in Portugal. Afterwards, it will be time to head to Cascais, to experience cosmopolitan life on the Atlantic Ocean. We’ll end with a drive down “Marginal," a road running parallel to white sandy beaches.

Day 4

Head for the Islands of the Azores

This morning, our driver will transfer you to Lisbon’s Airport for your flight to Ponta Delgada, on the island of São Miguel, Azores. Upon arrival, pick up your car from the rent-a-car and head to your hotel, located within a 10-minute drive from the airport. You’ll have some free time this morning to relax before this afternoon’s activity. This afternoon, meet our guide at Ponta Delgada’s Harbor, to begin a half-day private walking tour! This tour allows us to go through the main streets of Ponta Delgada, through the main sites of this city with more than 450-years of history. The tour also includes a stop at Ponta Delgada’s Market, a vibrant place where you can find the main products that come from this land and its sea.

Day 5

Experience Azores from the Ocean

Our half-day sea trips are a chance to meet and admire the marine mammals of the Azores in their natural habitat. Our boats depart to meet these unique animals, on a trip which is a mixture of fun, adventure, discovery and scientific knowledge. After lunch at a local restaurant, exit towards the viewing point of Vista do Rei. On the way, we have the opportunity to see smaller lakes, such as Empadadas Lake and the Canary Islands, before reaching the viewpoint where you will find the magnificent Lagoa das Sete Cidades. After walking the unpaved path that encircles the top of the volcanic structure, descend to the town of Sete Cidades before continuing back to Ponta Delgada, where we still get the opportunity to see the Lagoa de Santiago.

Day 6

Journey through Furnas Valley

The tour, starting in Ponta Delgada, continues towards the North Coast, rising to Monte Escuro, in the central area of the island. Before Furnas, we’ll stop at Gorreana tea plantation, the oldest of our island and the only one in Europe! Before descending to Furnas Valley, we have the opportunity to stop at Pico do Ferro to admire the magnificent view over the valley and the lake. Before lunch, we still have time to see the withdrawal of the famous Cozido das Furnas from the interior of the earth, where it's been cooking for 6 hours. After lunch, visit the parish calderas and thermal bath in Poça da Dona Beija, where you’ll have some free time to relax.

Day 7

Cook Like a Local

This morning, you’ll be meeting with a local Portuguese Chef from São Miguel at her home, for an intimate cooking lesson! Take this intimate time with the chef to ask as many questions as you want and learn all about Portuguese cuisine, mainly Azorean cuisine! During the cooking class, a starter is served with local cheeses and fruits, then we prepare a soup, meat and fish dishes and dessert, accompanied by local wine or juice. The "day-to-day" menu is a selection of traditional meals prepared by families in their day-to-day life, using the most common ingredients of our gastronomy. This is a very fun, hands-on and tasty experience that you will not forget.

Day 8

One Last Night in Lisbon

Today you’ll have a free morning at leisure, to enjoy São Miguel at your own pace. We recommend you pick up your car and drive through the scenic roads the island has to offer, discovering all its hidden secrets. Once you return to Lisbon, we will take you to your hotel to relax on this last night in Portugual. Lisbon, once forgotten, has been reborn in all its splendour. It’s a city full of history and stories to tell, where the authenticity of old traditions and ancient history mix with hi-tech innovations and a contemporary lifestyle. Explore what you’ve not yet seen.

Day 9

Say Farewell to Portugal

This morning you’ll have some free time to spend at your own pace and leisure, enjoying everything that this quaint city has to offer. Depending when your flight is, you may need to head straight to the airport. Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end but we hope you have enjoyed your time exploring the very best that Portugal has to offer.
