Carcassonne is located in Languedoc Roussillon.Carcassonne, a hilltop town in southern France’s Languedoc area, is famous for its medieval citadel, La Cité, with numerous watchtowers and double-walled fortifications. Montpellier is located in Languedoc Roussillon.Montpellier is a city in southern France, 10km inland from the coast of the Mediterranean Sea. It’s known for well-preserved Roman monuments such as the Arena of Nîmes, a double-tiered circa-70 A.D. amphitheater still in use for concerts and bullfights. Both the Pont du Gard tri-level aqueduct and the Maison Carrée white limestone Roman temple are around 2,000 years old.


Narbonne is Located in Languedoc Roussillon.Narbonne is a town in southern France on the Canal de la Robine. The Gothic CathĂ©drale Saint-Just et Saint-Pasteur was begun in the 13th century but never completed. The grand Palais des ArchevĂŞques (Archbishop’s Palace) houses archaeology and art museums. The Horreum is an underground labyrinth of ancient warehouses left over from the town’s days as a Roman port. The nearby beach and harbor is at Narbonne Plage.


Uzès is Located in Languedoc Roussillon.The historic town of Uzès lies beyond the boundaries of Provence about 40 kilometers west of Avignon in a pleasant setting above the wooded Alzon valley. Visitors will appreciate the alluring ambience of Uzès, with its narrow streets, quiet alleys, and shaded boulevards. The main square, the Place aux Herbes, is shaded by leafy plane trees, lined with arcades and outdoor cafĂ© terraces, and has an old fountain at the center. On Saturday mornings, a market takes place at this atmospheric medieval square. Other attractions are the Château Ducal, which was built in various stages from the 11th to the 17th centuries, and the MusĂ©e Georges Borias, a museum of art, archaeology, and history, housed in the Ancien EvĂŞchĂ© (former Bishop’s Palace)


Aigues mortes is Located in Languedoc Roussillon.Famous for its medieval fortifications, the historic town of Aigues-Mortes lies 47 kilometers west of Arles on the edge of the Camargue Nature Reserve. The massive town walls took more than 30 years to build; they form a rectangle, which is still complete and surrounds the town. The ring of walls has 15 towers and ten gates, some with towers. A broad path inside the wall enabled the defenders of the town to get quickly from one place to another to repulse invaders. The best way to discover Aigues-Mortes is by walking around the walls beginning at the Porte de la Gardette and then through the narrow streets of the old town to soak up the Old World ambience. Aigues-Mortes dates back to the time of Saint Louis (King Louis IX) who purchased the region in 1240 from the monks of Psalmody.

Less than 10 kilometers away from Aigues-Mortes is Le-Grau-du-Roi, an old fishing village that is now a modern seaside resort. Continue four kilometers farther south to the popular holiday resort of Port Camargue, with its wide sandy beaches and pretty vacation homes. Another favorite resort town by the sea is Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer located about 30 kilometers from Aigues-Mortes within the Parc Ornithologique du Pont De Gau, a fantastic place for birdwatching


Saint Gillies is Located in Languedoc Roussillon.Residential Saint-Gilles is known for its indie galleries and art nouveau buildings, including the Horta Museum, with stained glass and ceramics by Victor Horta. Sunday’s vast Midi Market at Brussels-South Railway Station sells everything from plants to clothing and exotic spices. The Museum of the Gueuze, in the nearby Cantillon brewery, tells the story of the city’s unique spontaneously fermented beers.


BĂ©ziers is Located in Languedoc Roussillon .BĂ©ziers is a town in Languedoc in southern France. It is a sub-prefecture of the HĂ©rault department. BĂ©ziers hosts the famous Feria de BĂ©ziers, centred on bullfighting, every August. A million visitors are attracted to the five-day event. BĂ©ziers is a member of the Most Ancient European Towns Network.


Sete is Located in Languedoc-Roussillon.Sète is a major port city in the southeast French region of Occitanie. It’s bordered by the Étang de Thau, a biodiverse saltwater lagoon. Across a narrow isthmus, Sète’s Mediterranean coast is lined with sandy beaches. The top of Mont St Clair offers views of the city, known as “Venice of the Languedoc” for its canal network. The Musée Paul Valéry has displays on the history of Sète, plus an art collection.
